Device categories
Categories are the colored folders of your inventory. Group the switches of one region, the routers of another — each category gets a name, a Lucide icon and a color, so a glance is enough to know where a device belongs.
- Open Categories in the sidebar — the page shows every category as a colored card with its icon and device count.
- Click “New category”, give it a name and pick an icon from the gallery and a color from the swatches; the live badge previews your choice.
- Back on Devices, open a device and pick its category in the device dialog — the colored icon badge shows in the table and in filters.
- Click a category card to jump to the Devices page pre-filtered to that category.
- Deleting a category keeps the devices — they simply become uncategorized, with all their settings intact.
Tip
Name categories after the topology you actually run: “Core”, “Branch”, “Lab” or a region name — then filter the whole fleet with one click.
